So maybe you've lost your firends in the crowd at NebKon, or maybe they havn't arrived yet. Or maybe you don't have any friends who are into anime, and you came by yourself. It can be scary being in a new place with lots of unfamiliar people. But the vast majority of those people would be perfectly happy to be your friend. Seriously, we're all here for the convention, so we all have at elast that much in common. And most of us live locally, which is why we come to NebKon and not some other convention. So say hello, be friendly, and most people will be friendly back.
Maybe not everyone. Maybe someone prefers giant robots, while you're into high fantasy shows. Maybe they have a panel they need to get to right now and don't have time to talk. Maybe they're really shy and not good at talking to people. Or maybe they're just a jerk; most people at NebKon are pretty cool, but there's a few exceptions. So if the first person you try to talk to didn't work out, try another. There's thousands of us, and most would be happy to be a friend. The odds are pretty good.
But perhaps you're too nervous to face the chance of rejection? That's okay, that's what The Beagles are for. What the heck's a Beagle? Well typically a beagle is a little dog who wants to help and be your friend. The Beagles are a group of staff members who are around to help and be your friend. If you feel lonely, just find a Beagle. Maybe they'll find you a group to hang out with, or maybe they'll personally spend some time to make sure you're having a great time. Every Staff member wants to make sure you have fun, but the Beagles specialize in it. Making sure others are having a great time is what they do.
